Home theater PCs are slowly working their way into living rooms across the world. As such, expect to see the market continually expand with slimmer and more functional models.
If we could have our pick of the litter, we couldn’t do much better than the Piixl EdgeCenter 3770 Media PC. This super-slim HTPC cuts the average PC’s profile dramatically while packing all that 1080p, streaming goodness that buyers crave.
Making even the average set-top box look huge, the EdgeCenter stretches just 30mm deep and is designed to be mounted on the back of your flat panel (37 to 70 inch), melding seamlessly into your home entertainment system.
As far as specs, the EdgeCenter includes processors starting from a 3Ghz Core 2 Duo and working up to a Core I7. It features 4 TV tuners and fast graphics.
Sound like a winner? Be prepared to spend over 4 grand on this one (starts at $4,043). That might fly when you’re adding it to a system that includes names like Bang & Olufsen and Wilson, but probably will eliminate it from contention for the average buyer. [Engadget via Dvice]
