With all the talk of networks and providers offering 3D TV content, it’s about time we get a solid date on an actual 3D television. LG is expected to be one of many companies announcing 3D availability today. The company will launch its first 3D flat panels in the U.S. in May–so just a few short months before you’re able to enjoy 3D in your home (assuming you have the money and desire to do so).

No pricing has been announced, but according to LG director of product development Tim Alessi, the 3D TVs will to marked up with a $200 or $300 premium over similar, non-3D models–a price leap that doesn’t seem too outrageous.

We’re sure this won’t be the last peep we’ll hear out of 3D TV at CES. In the meantime, let’s hear from the readers: are you planning on buying into the 3D hype or does good ol’ fashioned 2D suit you just fine? [via MSNBC]
