Kempler & Strauss Billionair 6 Hits the Market
By Chris Weiss
The latest WinMo phone preparing to strut its stuff down the proverbial catwalk at CTIA this week is the Kempler & Strauss Billionair 6. The new phone fills the lofty shoes created by its impression-making moniker by providing users with both touchscreen and trackball navigation. The backlit trackball and slidetouch interface combine to allow users to quickly and efficiently navigate multiple screens. The 3G HSPA phone uses a powerful 624 MHz ARM processor to create a fast, seamless user experience and includes a 2.8-inch QVGA display.
As for features, the phone includes a 3.2 MP camera capable of capturing images at 1600 x 1200, WiFi and Bluetooth support. The Bluetooth is optimized for use with Kempler’s Communicator headset, which provides up to 16 feet of personal space for receiving calls or playing MP3s. Additionally, the B6 includes GPS, an accelorometer that automatically flips the screen to the position in which it is being held and productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Mobile and ActiveSync. A microSD slot allows for memory expansion up to 4GB.
Kempler is clearly pretty excited about the device, as this statement from president Isaac Calderon indicates: “Billionair 6 is a feature packed device that takes the smartphone concept to the next level with a powerful processor to support the operation of simultaneous applications, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity for maximum flexibility, touchscreen and trackball interfaces for easy intuitive control, and a sleek, attractive design that enables the phone to deliver both fashion and function.”
If you’re equally enthused, the Billionair 6 is already available at a list price of $260. [via Engadget]
