Japanese consumers can get a little HD in their pockets with JVC’s PICSIO GC-FM1. The tiny video camera, whose shape resembles the flip, has an 8-megapixel still photo sensor, recording video at 2.03 megapixels. The result is 4:3 ratio, 1080p video at 30 frames per second, stored to an SD or SDHC memory card. Around the back, a 2-inch LCD screen lets you view the videos, and there’s also an HDMI output for the big screen. Other features include 4x digital zoom (but no optical zoom), electronic image stabilization and bundled MediaBrowser LE software for offloading videos and burning DVDs. It’s a little costly at the equivalent of $220, it’s a little costlier than the HD Flips, but we’ll see if that changes if and when the PICSIO GC-FM comes stateside. [Impress via Electronista]
