It’s Official: LG’s Android GW620 Phone

LG is throwing its arms in the air and joining the Android bandwagon, announcing the Android-powered GW620 smartphone. Talk about a product that puts all its faith in Google’s mobile operating system alone, unlike HTC’s Tattoo and Motorola’s Cliq, which spike the user experience with custom interfaces. The GW620 really has no stand-out features to speak of: a 3-inch touch screen, a 5-megapixel autofocus camera, Wi-Fi and GPS, with no word on processor type, dimensions or storage capacity. Meanwhile, LG says that it will launch a minimum of 13 Windows Mobile-powered smartphones over the next 16 months. Meanwhile, look for the GW620 in Europe this winter, or check out another photo after the jump.
