iRex E-Reader Coming to Best Buy in November
Sep 23, 2009 - By Jared Newman
Netherlands-based iRex has nailed down a release window and retail partner for its eponymous e-reader. Best Buy will carry the iRex, a new e-reader from Royal Philips Electronics, in November. The retailer already carries Sony’s line of e-readers, which is due to get its biggest model yet in December. The iRex has an 8.1-inch touch screen with stylus navigation and 3G connectivity courtesy of Verizon Wireless. Barnes & Noble, which is quickly moving into the e-book space with more than 750,000 titles, will be the iRex’s digital book seller. This is Verizon’s first move into e-readers, as Sprint supports the Kindle and AT&T will provide 3G for Sony’s readers. The battle’s about to get interesting. [via Computerworld and PC World]
