iPod Nano Ripped Open, Insides Exposed
By Jared Newman
With any new gadget, it’s inevitable that the folks at iFixit immediately expose its innards to the world, and so it went with Apple’s new video-ready iPod Nano. Like any of these teardowns, the catharsis of seeing one precious device mercilessly torn to shreds is more exciting than the results; “Yep, that’s the inside of an iPod Nano,” you think to yourself, before carelessly moving along to other matters of interest. One interesting find: The new video camera is thicker than the entire iPod Nano, thanks in large part to a bulky autofocus mechanism. Accordingly, we’re left with a 640 x 480 camera that shoots passable video, but no photos. [iFixit via Wired]
