iPhone iPhone Tops Customer Satisfaction Survey

In news that’s not all that surprising, the iPhone has edged out the competition and taken the top spot in a survey on smartphone customer satisfaction. The JD Power survey was presented to 3,221 smartphone owners between January and June 2009. The participants used their phones for fewer than two years. Apple scored 811 points while LG came in second with 776. RIM Blackberry rounded out the top three with a score of 759. The survey required that customers rate their phones on a variety of specific qualities such as ease of use, OS, design and features.

JD Power also conducted several other mobile phone surveys. Again, Apple took the top spot, this time in a smartphone business user satisfaction survey. RIM Blackberry took second in that one. The score there was 803 to 724, which is interesting given Blackberry’s strong place within the business sector–apparently iPhone 3GS has helped iPhone to please business users as well as consumers. In a separate survey of plain, old cell phone users, LG took first place honors with 723 points.

So since Apple doesn’t even bother with a traditional cell phone, it would appear that the iPhone presently reigns king of phone satisfaction. Again, not all that surprising on the consumer side, but its dominance on the business side is certainly an upset. Any iPhone, Blackberry or LG users want to weigh in? [via Wired]
