iPhone Shatters, Injures French Teen

Forget exploding, melting, burning or generally overheating iPods; the next threat from Apple’s wunderdevices appears to be shattered glass from bursting iPhone screens. This reportedly occurred in France, where a teenage boy suffered an eye injury after his girlfriend’s iPhone shattered. “My son was frightened but he did not lose an eye,” said the boy’s mom, Marie-Dominique Kolega. The phone made a hissing noising noise before bursting, so if you here that sound, run away for goodness sakes. Consistent with an earlier report out of Britain, Apple tried to hush the family in exchange for a refund. Now that’s customer service! We’re glad they’ve apparently declined. [via AFP]
