iPhone MMS Delayed, Tethering Coming for $55 in September?
By Jared Newman
I’ll just say straight out that I’m skeptical of the latest reports of $55 iPhone tethering. This rumor was started once before by Appmodo and was reportedly confirmed again with an anonymous source, but BB Gadgets suspects this is a “seeded rumor” to make a cheaper option more palatable. No disrespect to Appmodo, which stands by its information, but I think a cheaper monthly price is likely, given that the function doesn’t actually cost AT&T anything to unlock except the added demand on bandwidth. If the rumors are true, of course it’s an outrage, but I’m happy to wait until the expected September availability draws closer to find out more. [via Appmodo]

Nobody should be 'happy to wait' for any amount of time to find out what they will charge for tethering. We should have found out on June 8th what the price would be. AT&T not supporting two of the most wanted new features added to the iPhone on time is an epic failure and illustrates that company's lackluster commitment to their customers.
