IPhone Coming to China?

Apple is reportedly in negotiations with China Unicom, China’s second largest wireless provider, on bringing the iPhone into the world’s largest nation. One report from China Business News even claims that Unicom has already purchased five million iPhones in anticipation of a September launch.  Apple will likely need to change a few things on the iPhone to ready it for the Chinese market including altering 3G to conform with regulatory standards and dropping Wi Fi. You don’t have to be a business analyst to see what a huge move this could be for Apple–bringing the world’s favorite phone to a country of over one billion. With the cell phone market expected to dive by 10% this year, other companies such as Dell and Acer are also looking to the China to provide a boost. [via Information Week]
