iPad To Rule Until 2015: Tablet Tuesdays
By danseitz
To kick off Tablet Tuesday, we bring you a warning by way of Gartner, who ran an analysis and came up declaring that the iPad would dominate the tablet sector until at least 2015. So that’s at least another four years of this leading off Tablet Tuesdays, let’s look at the competitors for second place.
The Playbook comes out next week, and RIM is emphasizing its one advantage: it’s great at playing Flash. That might sell it pretty well to the business clients it’s hoping to get.
The Xoom is hoping to recover its lackluster launch by hitting Sprint soon, with a fancy WiMax radio to show off.
Acer has upped the number of Iconias it’s shipping by several tens of thousands, which some people think means the end of laptops, since that’s Acer’s main business right now.
Dell is apparently working on a 15″ tablet, to follow up on the Inspiron Duo We’ve got to wonder what 15″ really offers…wait, what did we just say?
Finally, in the least shocking survey ever, 28 percent of tablet users turn out to be using the tablet as their main computer. Gee, they’re using a $500 portable device for web-surfing and for reading email? I am shocked, shocked I say!
