Apple iPad1 IPad Gets Some Magazine Content Courtesy of Condé Nast

Thanks to the ever-short month of February, it’s officially March, which means the iPad is hitting the market later this month. Delivering on some of the more interactive magazine content that the iPad promises to offer consumers, Condé Nast plans to ready five of its magazine titles for the tablet.

It’s only fitting that the biggest tech story of 2009 gets a digitally formatted version of Wired. Other magazines that will be offered are GQ, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker and Glamour.

GQ will be the first to have an iPad version ready with its April issue. Wired and Vanity Fair will have iPad versions ready by their June issues, and the other two titles will be ready this summer.

Condé Nast will be using the launches to test the digital waters in terms of pricing and advertising models. They will sell the magazines through iTunes and wrap up the test run in the fall, after which time Condé  will consider adding other titles based on its initial results. [via NY Times]
