iPad 2 – Steve Jobs wasn’t joking when he stood up on stage today and announced that the new iPad “is no toy… This is something you can use for real work.” It’s thinner, lighter, faster and made for people to not only consume content, but create it.

Today Jobs appeared in person to launch the latest technology. It was not only an amazing day for the new iPad but for everyone there, seeing as this could very well be one of Jobs last public appearances. What a better time to stand up and be proud of something than with the impressive iPad which is “1/3 thinner, 13.3% percent lighter rainbow-covered iPad 2″ according to TechCrunch who was live blogging the event.

At the launch he announced that “We think 2011 is clearly going to be the year of iPad 2,” and it seems as if everyone out there agrees.

It seems as if they have something for just about everyone! Over on our sister site ScreenCrave they wrote about the new iMovie application for only $4.99, which makes making moves, once again, even easier; then on BeatCrave we discussed the even more impressive additions to Garageband — which basically makes every person a one man studio able to create professional quality music. And then there’s also the Gamer side of it, there looks to be a vast improvement.

Check out some more great sources of blogs on the ground, live covering the event…
