iPad 2 Takes a Step Back: 1 MP Camera Rumored
By Chris Weiss
9to5 Mac has done a little digging into the Apple’s latest SDK and has surmised that the iPad 2 won’t be getting a 5 MP camera on the back as had been speculated, but instead will have a much more modest camera in the range of 1 MP. In fact it may even share a .7-megapixel camera with the fourth-gen iPod Touch. Pretty disappointing for a high-end product like the iPad, but I reckon you won’t be taking too many snapshots/too much video with an unwieldy device like a tablet computer anyway. And at least it has some type of camera.
The iPad 2 will also get a front-facing camera with VGA resolution. That camera will enable the iPad to take advantage of Apple’s FaceTime app. [via 9to5 Mac]
