Iowa’s $80 million NADS-1 Driving Simulator Seen From the Inside

NADS-1 Driving Simulator 1

Want the nearest experience to driving without actually driving?  The National Advanced Driving Simulator (NADS-1) at the University of Iowa is the closest you can get. An $80 million investment in software, design and sophisticated hydraulics, NADS-1 is one of the world’s most realistic driving simulators you could ever imagine. And the best part is that our good friends at Dvice got a quick joyride inside the huge pod for a hell of an adventure. Everything from the seats, to the wheel and the pedals seem real but as they say, nothing compares with “the near-total realism we felt when we slammed on the brakes”. If anyone listens, we’d love a couple of hours inside, too! [via Dvice]
