Google Tablet Rendering HTC Tablet Running Google Chrome Coming For the Holidays?

We’ve heard a whole lot of rumors, confirmations and white noise about all forms of tablet, from the iPad to Windows 7 to Android to WebOS-based devices. However, there hasn’t been too much out of the Google Chrome corner since a Chrome tablet rendering appeared on Chrome’s website back in the winter.

Today, Chrome is officially joining the Great Tablet Buzz of ’10. According to a report on Downloadsquad, an HTC tablet running Google’s lightweight operating system will be hitting the market this November, just in time to snag a few hard-earned holiday dollars. Not mincing any words about its intentions, the HTC tablet will reportedly launch on Black Friday. The tablet will be offered on Verizon and is expected to enjoy a heavy helping of subsidization.

Outside of Chrome, other speculated specs include a 1280 x 720 multitouch display, Nvidia Tegra 2 chip, 32 GB of storage, GPS, WiFi/Bluetooth/LTE, webcam and 2 GB of RAM.

If this rumor holds true, the tablet market will host a Google v. Google showdown in addition to more traditional matches like Google v. Apple. Should be interesting. [Downloadsquad via Computerworld]
