HP webOS Tablet Coming Next Month?
By Chris Weiss
It’s been known for quite some time that HP is developing a tablet around the webOS platform created by Palm, which HP acquired last year. That model is expected to be called the PalmPad. But what isn’t known is when HP will launch this tablet.
Well, according to a little simple deduction today that time could come as soon as early next month. HP sent out invitations for a webOS-related event on February 9. Meanwhile, reports from sources inside the company indicate that HP has been busy training employees on something it calls “The Big Idea,” which will use webOS in integrating devices such as smartphones, tablets and netbooks.
According to Information Week, a training video spoke of “The Big Idea” as such: “If I could run webOS on my phone, and a slate, and a netbook … And they all talked to each other and shared information … A friendly little product family … That connects you to the world in amazing new ways.”
We’ll find out what that’s all about in just a few weeks. [via Information Week]
