HP Slate Promo 2 HP Releases Another Promo Video for Slate

It was bound to happen, but we really hoped it wouldn’t be this soon. People are already starting in with the term “iPad killer” (cheekily or not).

Apple released its iPad this weekend and enjoyed strong sales, but there are still a variety of things that iPad 1.0 will simply not be capable of, some of which are so glaringly obvious that we have to wonder what the hell Apple was thinking not including them.

HP is all too happy to point out exactly where its upcoming Slate excels over the iPad. Things like Flash support, not one but two video cameras (front and rear cameras), USB ports and SD memory expansion (video shows a 16 GB card) are all part of the Slate while remaining M.I.A. on the iPad. The Slate will also run Windows 7 and will provide more of a full computing experience of the iPad.

In other words, if you weren’t one of the first 300,000 iPad buyers, you might just want to wait to see what the HP Slate is all about. When it will drop and how much it will cost are lingering questions that will likely force a few buyers into the Apple camp.

HP released another promo video, which highlights some different aspects than the first, though the music and some of the shots are recycled. [via PC World]
