Envy 15 Beats Edition

With a price tag that will make most laptop users blush, the HP Envy 15 Beats Edition hits the scene and prepares for launch later this month. The limited-edition notebook features a Beats Audio system complete with Beats headphones for delivering high quality sound not usually associated with a notebook. Outside of the 15.6-inch HD BrightView display and promise of an Intel Core i7 and Mobility Radeon HD 4830 seen in the standard Envy 15, HP has remained mum about the specs of the Beats edition. What is clear is that it will cost a hefty $500 premium with a price tag of $2,299. Ouch.

While the Beats-like glossy black and red styling are nice, and the boost in audio will surely tickle the ears, the $500 over stock price seems like a bit much. Other features that are included on the standard Envy 15 include HP Clickpad, a touchpad with integrated buttons, direct-action keyboard keys, optional external optical drive and two USB ports. Like the standard 15, the Beats edition weighs in at 5.18 lbs. and is an inch thick.

The Envy 15 Beats Edition will launch on October 22, the same day as Windows 7. So if you have a lot of extra coin to burn on a special edition notebook, get your wallet ready. [HP via Crunch Gear]
