In hyping up its new Mini 5101 netbook, HP doesn’t dwell on product specs, because they’re nothing special. HP instead hopes to sell you on the business-class mini-notebook’s top-shelf design and extra features. Anodized aluminum combine with “soft-touch” paint on the base and palm rest. The spill-resistant keyboard is 95 percent of full-size and includes a special coating to reduce wear. And finally, mouse buttons are located below the trackpad. Optional features include a 6-cell battery, an 80 GB or 120 GB solid state drive, mobile broadband and Bluetooth. Such elegance demands a little more coin, of course, so the Mini 5101 will start at $449 when it ships in late July. [via HP]
