Have You Had Your Morning Cup O’ Google? Android-Powered Coffemaker
By Chris Weiss
I’m willing to bet that if you did a poll, you’d find that Google and coffee go together in the real world better than coffee and pastries. Whether at the office or at home, who doesn’t regularly hold onto a mug handle while Googling news, sports, videos, etc. ?
Well, here’s a little concept that officially ties the knot between Google and coffee: it’s an Android-powered espresso maker. Plug your Android handset into the dock on top, and the Appresso (get it!) will automatically recognize you and start making your favorite coffee.
The idea appears to be that the machine is loaded with those delicious, pre-packaged coffee pods and can drop the right one based on the preferences and mood that the machine garners from your phone. Each pod even has a QR code on the top, which allows the machine to play a certain song that pairs perfectly with your morning cup. Or you can load and play your own music–but who buys a contraption like this to do anything himself?
I’m not sure what’s espresso about this machine–looks more like a standard, pod-based coffeemaker. And unless the machine can automatically froth my milk for a cappuccino, I’d prefer a simple coffeemaker. Espresso drinks never taste very good out of tiny, home machines anyway.
Unfortunately, for coffee-loving dads and grads, this is but a concept, so don’t spend any time trying to find one as a gift. It was designed by In-oh Yoo & Bong-yup Song for Metatrend Institute. [Yanko via Geeky Gadgets ]
