GScreen Dual-Screen Spacebook
By Chris Weiss
Some of the first real photos of the new dual 15.4 gScreen Spacebook have hit the Web and the laptop looks pretty sweet from where we’re sitting. With two full 15.4-inch screens, the laptop from the Alaska-based company is aimed at professionals like filmmakers, designers and photographers that rely on the dual-screen functionality day in and day out. The second screen is set behind the first and slides out to produce the full display. The first Spacebooks to hit the market will sport 16 or 17-inch screens and gScreen plans a 13-inch model for later release. GScreen is currently working on the power supply and sliding mechanism– so don’t expect the bare, multi-colored wires–but says that it anticipates getting the laptops up on Amazon by the holiday season. Pricing is tentatively set somewhere under 3 grand. Inside, the Spacebook will be powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors with 4GB of RAM and Nvidia GF900M GT discrete graphics. It will run Windows 7.
