Is Today Google Voice’s Day?

Privileged members of the media have been able to tinker with Google Voice for some time now. For the rest of us, Google’s free VOIP, voicemail and call forwarding service could be less than 24 hours away, at least according to comments on CNet’s Buzz Out Loud podcast. When Google purchased a similar service from Grand Central last year, it sat on the technology for a while before announcing a revamped version called Google Voice in March. In addition to the standard voice over Internet and forwarding features, the service can transcribe and screen voicemails, set up conferences calls, create personalized greetings and send SMS communications. I’ve been waiting patiently to try a lot of those features, so hopefully today’s the day. [CNet via Gotta Be Mobile]
