Google Rattles the World With Personalized Home Pages
By Chris Weiss
After years of its familiar, plain-Jane home page with colored letters spelling out “Google”, search buttons and not much of anything else but white space, Google has shaken things up, launching a new feature that allows users to personalize Google’s home page, much the way they’d personalize the home screen on their own computer.
As you probably already discovered, last night, Google advertised the new feature by displaying a Doodle with a collection of photos and artwork that you can choose from. Works from Dale Chihuly, Jeff Koons, Tom Otterness, Polly Apfelbaum, Kengo Kuma (隈研吾), Kwon, Ki-soo (권기수) and Tord Boontje, Yann Arthus-Bertrand and National Geographic were available for users to use as a new Google home page. Because of some technical issues, Google stopped the Doodle, but users can still set up their personalized home page.

So what do you think? Do you want to make Google more Bing-like with stunning photography or will you continue with the classic Google that you’re so accustomed to?
