Google Introduces Its Own Dictionary
By Chris Weiss
Apparently fortifying its hold on everything you do always on the Internet wasn’t enough to constitute a day’s work for the big G. Yesterday, in addition to dipping its feet into cold, icy DNS waters, Google also introduced Google Dictionary, extending its Internet reign into the very basic building blocks of human interaction.
Like any dictionary, Google dictionary allows users to search words and get definitions and synonyms. It also pulls up other definitions from a variety of authoritative and not-so-much-at-all (Wikipedia) sources. Features include the ability to mark a word to come back to later, lists of recent searches and the ability to switch to dictionaries for other languages.
