Google Chrome Beta Now Available For Mac and Linux

Google Chrome has been gracing the screens of PCs for quite a while, but until today wasn’t available on other machines. Google has announced that the Chrome browser is now available in beta for Macs and Linux. Google also launched 300 beta extensions for Windows and Linux systems.

Mac users will enjoy a “clean, simple design with subtle animations”, and of course, the speed boost that Chrome is all about. Other features include added security and a stealth mode where Web history isn’t tracked–great for pervtastic husbands leering at the PC. Download requires OS X 10.5 + and an Intel processor.

There are some features missing from the Mac version in comparison to the PC Chrome. Specifically, support for Google Gears and Book Manager failed to show up to the party. Google also says that extensions aren’t yet beta quality.
