Gizmodo Down, Gawker Network Under Radio Silence

Update: Gizmodo was down.  She’s back up.  Witness the new and fully operational!

Gizmodo is down.  When a site of it’s size and meaning goes under, even temporarily, it is certainly news.  At present, Gizmodo and the entire Gawker network is down, inaccessible and — according to some reports — intermittently showing content from as recent as January.  As we have plenty of respect for Gizmodo and what the Gawker network does, we hope they’re up and running soon without having lost any data.  Check back here for updates– when Gawker posts the official cause, we’ll update this thread.

Update: 1:24p.m. PST – Still no sign of a clear connection yet.  If any of you can connect, grab a screenshot, upload it to an image host and post a link in the comments.  In the mean time, if we hear back from our contacts at Gizmodo with an update, we’ll post it shortly.  For now, we’ve stayed up-to-date with other tech news on the GadgetCrave home page.

Update: 1:35p.m. PST – Jason Chen replied to a quick email.  Gizmodo tweeted (and posted) about these issues earlier today:

Update: 4:00p.m. PST – The Gawker network seems to be righting its server issues.  The sites are responding intermittently, between full loads and page load errors.
