France Telecom/Orange Confirms (then Denies) Apple Tablet

At this point, weeks before Apple is clearly set to announce its tablet, we don’t really need external confirmation. It’s pretty much a fact of life that the tablet exists and is due to be unveiled soon. But just in case there was any shadow of a doubt, an executive from France’s telecommunication giant Télécom confirmed the existence of the tablet. Speaking with a television journalist, top executive Stéphane Richard stated that the device will debut in a couple of days. He also stated that the tablet will include a webcam and will be offered by Orange, a Télécom subsidiary .
Orange is denying that Richard spilled the beans and has stated that the misunderstanding arose when “a few comments [were] taken out of context, then interpreted into English”. However, it appears like the “damage” was done. [via TechCrunch]
