Windows 7 RTM for TechNet, MSDN Hits Today – Though the announcement dropped a month ago that Windows 7 will be released to manufacturing, it’s finally happening today with Windows 7 RTM delivered to TechNet and MSDN first. That means for-pay developer and IT professional sites will have access to Window 7’s final build starting today. They’ll be able to download the operating system in English, but will have to wait until October 1 for other languages. All this is inside baseball, but some lucky beta testers will be able to start downloading now. The rest of us will have to either wait until Windows 7’s October 22 release date or try a release candidate for free, though it’ll drop dead in a couple of weeks. [via ComputerWorld]
