Dreams Do Come True: The Heineken Bot

Sure, robotic technology can be used for great things that advance the interests of humanity, but what exactly have those things done for you lately? They certainly haven’t popped you a cold one while you lay on your couch half covered in slobber and Cheeto dust.
The Heineken Bot is a robot that every guy (and probably many ladies) has dreamed about owning for years. Created by some intelligent but fun-loving types at Middlesex University and displayed at the recent Kinetica Art Fair in London, the robot is a Heineken mini-keg on wheels. It not only brings you your beer, it pours it for you.
Simply wave your hand over the sensor on top and it will stop at your feet. Then, give it a cup and let it pour your beer.
Hopefully, they will produce this thing with an all-terrain drivetrain capable of tackling dishes, newspapers, clothes and empty plastic cups, because I wouldn’t be leaving the couch for weeks on end. [via Engadget]
