We’ve seen a little bit of information and pictures of the Dell Mini 5, a compact, sleek tablet that will debut in a few months. Wired recently spoke with Dell’s general manager at the tablet division Neeraj Choubey and he confirmed that Dell does not plan to stop at the five-incher.

“We are going to have a family of tablets,” he said. “The first one is a 5-inch screen but we want to scale that up to a variety of screen sizes.”

The Mini 5 will feature a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.0, capacitive touchscreen, Wi-Fi and 3G. It delivers in some places where the iPad fails including the inclusion of a 5 MP camera, a front-facing camera for video conferencing and flash support. From early looks, it appears to be an ideal option for those seeking to get tablet function with small form factor.

Dell hasn’t offered any pricing information yet, outside of promising that the Mini series will be competitive. We can’t wait to see a head-to-head between the Mini 5 and iPad. [via Wired]
