Dell Streak Pricing and U.S. Availability Released
By Chris Weiss
According to word out of D8 yesterday, Dell has finally provided the last two key details on its Streak tablet: pricing and availability. Last week when U.K. availability was penned in, Dell stuck to the ol’ “later this summer” for the U.S. The more specific answer to the question is that it will be available beginning in July, though a hard date still seems to be elusive. The tablet will slide into that lowest-tier-iPad price slot of $500 and will come unlocked. It’ll be available through Dell’s website.
In case you totally missed it, the Streak is Dell’s Android tablet that measures in with a just-above-smartphone-sized 5-inch capacitive touchscreen and a 1-gig Snapdragon processor. Unlike the iPad, it includes a camera–two of them, in fact: a 5-megapixel camera out back and a front-facing camera. It also promises to come in all kinds of pretty colors. [via Engadget]
