Dell Adamo Gets a Price Cut, Starting at $1,499

Combine a down economy with a cheaper competing product in the MacBook Air, and this was inevitable: Dell is significantly reducing the price of its luxury Adamo laptop line. The low-end Admire model now costs $1,499, down from $1,999, while the Desire model now starts at $2,299, compared to the old price of $2,699. The move follows price cuts that Apple exacted on the Air in June, though the high-end Adamo is still a more expensive option. Recall that Dell let the hype fly before the Adamo’s release earlier this year, ultimately unveiling it alongside tall, skinny models who acted as if the 4-pound PC weighed nothing at all.
