Crucial SSDs Get Faster
By Jared Newman
For most people, the high price of solid state drives is a big reason not to switch from hard disk drives, but they do tend to lag a little on write speeds as well. Lexar’s new Crucial SSDs have a bone to pick with that argument, writing at 200 MB per second and reading at 250 MB per second in the 256GB model. That makes these Crucials the line’s fastest to date, and possibly enough to tempt a deep-pocketed SSD naysayer. Their SATA 2.0 interface and 5-year warranty sweeten the deal. Three sizes are available, costing $170 for 64 GB, $330 for 128 GB and $600 for 256 GB. [Crucial via CrunchGear]
