Crazy iPod Event Speculation Time Begins
Man, we gadget hounds are an impatient lot. Only a day out from Apple’s music-themed iPod event, and it seems every possibility is being speculated on — short of Steve Jobs’ death and subsequent resurrection as a cow, or a snake depending on how you feel about Apple. Among the ideas: A dirt-cheap iPod Touch ($150 for 8 GB) and a high-capacity version ($350 for 64 GB) to complement the demise of the iPod Classic. Or maybe iTunes will finally get the Beatles’ catalog, or at least some of the social networking features we’ve been hearing about. Or perhaps it’s the transformation of iTunes into a cloud service, accessible from any platform. Or instead of all this, the event will reveal nothing more than a few mundane hardware and software improvements. And if Steve Jobs isn’t going to perform any miracles, it’s possible that he could at least show up. [via AppleInsider]
