Commodore 64 Emulator Now Available for IPhone
By Chris Weiss
This is good news for iPhone users that love vintage video games. After a slight technical runaround, Manomio’s Commodore 64 emulator is now available for purchase. Manomio had all the necessary licenses lined up way back in June, but was subsequently rejected due its BASIC 2.0 Intepreter that enabled it to execute arbitrary code, a no-no according to iPhone 2.0 SDK. This issue was cleared up through iPhone 3.0 in-app purchasing, which will allow Manomio to package additional games and sell them separately via the app store. The iPhone’s first emulator will run $4.99 and will include 5 games–Dragon’s Den, Le Mans, Jupiter Lander, Arctic Shipwreck, and Jack Attack, for those keeping track. [Apple Insider via Engadget]
