Comcast TV Coming to Mobile Phones

In its latest effort to entice new and existing subscribers, Comcast said it plans to bring TV shows to mobile phones. Of course, there’s a catch: You’d have to subscribe not just to Comcast’s cable service, but to its wireless Internet service as well. The company is offering wireless Internet as part of a joint venture with Clearwire, which is building WiMax coverage around the country. In addition, Comcast is considering a voice plan to go along with wireless Internet. The shows would be offered through On Demand Online, another service Comcast is developing to let subscribers watch TV over the Web. Keep in mind that these are things Comcast wants to do, but the company hasn’t announced any concrete timeline yet. [via Reuters]
