Clearwire Bangs Out WiMax Roaming Agreements
By Jared Newman
Planning on becoming a WiMax subscriber in Japan, and then traveling to Russia, or vice versa? Clearwire, which is building an ever-larger WiMax network here in the United States, has facilitated an friendly agreement between Russia’s Yota and Japan’s UQ Communications, who both carry the super-fast 4G mobile broadband service. The memorandum of understanding works to establish roaming between the two carriers, so you could use WiMax in both. Of course, that means little to U.S. Clearwire users, but it could signal more roaming agreements to come. Let’s hope Sprint, which carries Wi-Max in the United States, follows suit with some nearer countries’ carriers down the line. [Clearwire via Engadget]

The WiMAX network is growing as planned. There are some big players behind this technology. I'm happy to have it here in Nevada.
