Christian Dior Phone Puts Armani Phone to Shame
Oct 21, 2009 - By Jared NewmanAll those wealthy executives must have been feeling pretty good after they dropped $1,000 on their Giorgio Armani smartphones, but they better hope their wives don’t ask for a Christian Dior luxury phone to match. These diamond or sapphire-encrusted clamshells cost at least six times as much, but to be fair, the presence of real gemstones adds more value than just the Dior name. The basic sapphire-encrusted model, which runs for $6,500, is gold-plated and covered in black PVD. If it’s diamonds you’re after, there’s the Zelie, which has red casing and costs $7,900, and the Zenaide, which is covered in luxurious white and will set you back $13,400. Sony France is the manufacturers, and has constructed a stainless steel phone with a flat keypad, kind of like the Razr. More details after the jump.
If you’re going for one of these phones, you might as well spend the extra $470 and get the Bluetooth headset. It’s also covered in jewels and it includes noise and echo reduction and automatic volume adjustment depending on background noise. There’s also a mini-phone, called MyDior, that hangs on a purse and connects to the mother phone via Bluetooth from up to 15 feet away. The new second-generation Dior phones should be available in December, but you can only get them by special order. [via Justluxe]
