Chevy’s hoping to net the latter group on eBay, where it’s selling the Chevy Volt to California residents. GM provides some stats on why this is good idea — 12 million car shoppers visit eBay during the buying process and 75 percent of new vehicle buyers go online for shopping and research — but fails to mention how many of those people actually buy a car over the Internet. In any case, the Volt looks okay on paper, getting 40 miles on a single charge and an overall range of 300 miles using its fuel engine.
