Ceramic Speakers Fold Audio Into Art

Ceramic Speakers

More for the lover of artwork and conversational pieces than the discerning audio enthusiast, these Ceramic Speakers, designed by Joey Roth, are created to present a clean, uninfluenced sound and “leave music untouched”. The 10-watt speakers each feature a 4″ full-range driver encased in “acoustically dead” porcelein and cork. A maple and plywood stand rounds out the ornate speaker package. Upon glancing at the speakers, the speculated $400 to $500 price range would seem like a steal for such a smooth, conceptual design. Upon perusing the specs and remembering these are geared toward desk, not den, that same price tag seems like a lot to pay for a functional piece of art. Perhaps a listen to the “warm, dry and detailed” sound would change our minds. If you’d like to find out, they’ll be available for pre-order in September on Roth’s site.  [Joey Roth via Crunch Gear]
