CBS To Offer Shows on iTunes for $ .99, Maybe
By Chris Weiss
If rumors hold true, you may soon be able to stare in adoration at Horatio Caine as he makes a bold yet sensible statement for just 99 cents. All Things Digital is reporting that CBS honcho Les Moonves has opened the door to lowered iTunes pricing on some of its shows, possibly cutting them from $1.99 to $.99. Steve Jobs is currently making a push for lowered pricing on TV shows available in iTunes.
In a rather vague, ambiguous statement, Moonves said: “There are certain shows that will be sold on Apple for 99 cents.” It’s not known if he was referring to new price drops, as CBS already offers some episodes at the discounted prices, and some sources have suggested that the network has no plans of changing prices.
However, there’s some hope that you’ll be able to keep up with the ridiculous number of CSI and NCIS variants for a little less coin. Why anyone would want to spend any money–even a buck–on CBS shows is still beyond me. [via All Things Digital]
