Boxee Box Now Available

The holidays mean a lot to a lot of different people, but two common themes are the best day of gifts of the year and the official kick-off of winter. And the best way I can think of to combine those two themes is by giving/getting the gift of Internet TV/movie content. What else do you plan to do on those sub-freezing winter nights and weekends?
Good news for those that agree: the oddly shaped Boxee Box detailed last year is now shipping. While it may not be as ambitious as Google TV, Boxee is a more established service and comes in 100 bucks cheaper at $199. Boxee plans to add access to subscription-based Hulu Plus and Netflix to the box in the near future.
Out of the box, Boxee will offer access to such Web content as YouTube, Vimeo, MUBI and OpenFilm. [Boxee Blog via Ars Technica]
