Blue Microphone Unveils Eyeball 2.0
By Chris Weiss
Blue Microphone has dropped Eyeball 2.0, which upgrades its original Eyeball webcam and microphone combo. The new 2 MP release from the microphone maker features a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 at 30 fps. The original Eyeball features a 1280 x 1024 max resolution. Other than that, the new Eyeball features the same retractable lens and large microphone, combining Super HD video and HD audio into one high-performance webcam package. The retractable lens turns itself off when you aren’t broadcasting to protect your privacy.
On the user side, the cam connects to Macs or PCs via USB without the need of driver installation. You can set it on a desk or table with the integrated stand or clip it to the top of your screen with the built-in hardware.
Known for its high-end microphones, Blue Microphone’s webcams are renowned for a high quality audio experience above and beyond the average webcam. Combine that with the Super HD video offered by the Eyeball 2.0 and you can consider the cam a deal at $80. It is available through Apple retail stores, Fry’s and Amazon.
In addition to the Eyeball 2.0, Blue Microphone also released two new versions of its Snowball wired condensor microphone: glossy black and brushed aluminum. Each model retails for $100. [via Electronista]
