BFG, the leading provider of power sources and 3D graphics cards, has unveiled its new Deimos notebook. The gaming notebook is designed as a desktop replacement and features an 18.4-inch display. The entry-level Deimos will be powered by a 2.53 GHz Core 2 Duo, while the notebook will top off with a 2.53 GHz Core 2 Extreme. Graphics begin at dual GeForce GTS 260M chipsets, while the top model receives a boost to dual GeForce GTX 280Ms. The notebook also features two RAID-striped hard drives with an optional third back-up drive that can create a total of 1.5TB of storage.

The Deimos is expected to be ready for market by month’s end. Prices will begin at $2,299, which includes the aforementioned Core 2 Duo and dual GeForce GTS 260Ms, 4GB of RAM, a 5.1 surround sound speaker system and two 250GB hard drives. Options include replacing the DVD drive with a Blu-ray burner, up to 8GB of RAM and a solid state drive for the third drive option.

While this is BFG’s first foray into notebooks, the company also introduced the Phobos desktop computer earlier this year.  The high-end, performance computing device was aimed at serious gaming addicts and home theater aficianados. Those familiar with that system and BFG’s gaming cards and power supplies will likely be quick to give the Deimos a closer look. [via Electronista]
