AT&T Rebounds From Verizon With Luke Wilson, Loses a Little More Credibility

AT&T may have lost the battle, but they’ve won a little Luke Wilson. Yes, that Luke Wilson. And ladies–he’s all AT&T’s.
In the wake of its first-round legal defeat, AT&T has turned to none other than the Godfather to help combat the now-infamous coverage maps that Verizon used to poke holes all over AT&T’s 3G network. Since AT&T wasn’t successful in convincing a federal court to force Verizon to pull those ads, the company has turned to a little ad-guru magic of its own.
Check out the video below and stare longingly into Casey Kelso’s eyes as he rights AT&T’s soiled 3G image with a series of magnets. Try hard to take the guy seriously and not scoff violently out the side of your face as visions of interrupting his galpal in the middle of a freaky orgy slip into the back of your mind. Feel the sting of his subtle, last-minute burn of Verizon.
Poor AT&T. Honestly, though, was Carrot Top busy? Could they not pull a heavy hitter like Ricky Schroder into the line-up?
Not sure if this is connected, but Luke Wilson’s IMDB popularity has taken a 7 percent slide this week. I can’t imagine this spot helped. [via CNET]
