Archos 9 Ships With Windows 7 On Release Day

Archos is betting that not everyone wants to see Windows 7 on notebooks and desktops alone, releasing a 9-inch tablet with that very same operating system. The Archos 9 will be one of several computers to put Windows 7’s new multi-touch features to the test, but it’s the first we’ve seen in single-body tablet form. Weighing in at 1.8 pounds, the Archos 9 includes a 1.1 GHz Intel Atom processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 60 GB hard drive, Bluetooth, four hours of battery life per charge and a 9-inch, 1024 x 900 resolution screen. If you’re in Europe, you get the added luxury of TV antennas. The Archos 9 will cost $499 and ships on October 22, the same day as Windows 7 itself. [UMPC Portal via Electronista]
