Archos 9 PCtablet
By Chris Weiss
Splitting the difference between media tablets like the Archos 5 and 7 and its full-fledged netbooks, Archos has introduced the Archos 9 PCtablet. The slim, tiny tablet is just .63″ thick and weighs in under 23 ounces. It features a 9-inch resistive touchscreen, making it a bit more viewer friendly than the 5 or 7 inch screens on its previous models. Another big upgrade is the use of Windows 7 as opposed to Archos’ own generic OS. The 9 also gets the new Z515 Intel® processor and an integrated multimedia platform that uses WiFi 802.11b/g connection and Bluetooth 2.1. While we fear that the touch interface of this device will fall a bit short of “astonishing” as promised in Archos’ press release, it looks like a smart, portable option to keep you in touch. The Archos 9 will be available in the fall. [via DVICE]
