The Wall Street Journal screwed up big-time with a report that Apple will attend 2010′s Consumer Electronics Show. It turns out, the company hasn’t signed up at all, according to an official with the Consumer Electronics Association, which runs the show. True, Apple is a member of the trade association, senior vice president of industry affairs Jason Oxman told PC World, but there’s no word on whether the company will attend. What’s really bad is that several people who attended the meeting reporter Ben Charny cites a source material say they heard nothing about Apple’s CES plans. Charny apparently has a questonable journalistic reputation already, and this blatantly false story doesn’t help. Time to hire a fact-checker. [via PC World]
